01 — WHAT THIS IS

A field watch for 125 years of the Australian Army.

It started with @watchesofaustralia.co on Instagram, who ran a poll to his community and came back with 407 people who wanted it built. Dan is the campaign ambassador. The watch is Bausele.

This page is the first step. Register your interest by 26 May. We come back 26 June with the design and an invitation to reserve.

02 — THE MODEL

Community-backed production. 300 to commission.

Bausele doesn't pre-build 500 watches and discount what doesn't sell. We build for the people who put their name down.

If 300 reservations aren't reached by 5 July 2026, every deposit is refunded within 14 business days. No watch goes into production until the community has covered it.

03 — THE W.W.W. LINEAGE

Built around a 1944 specification.

The design references the 1944 W.W.W. specification — the British Ministry of Defence brief for "Watch, Wrist, Waterproof" issued to twelve manufacturers including Vertex (Cal. 59), the visual touchstone for this dial.

This is a tribute to the W.W.W. spec. It is not a claim of Australian-issue lineage — there's no documented record of W.W.W. watches being officially issued to the Australian Army.

FAQ.

Can I personalise it with my unit, rank, name and PMKEYS?

Yes. Every caseback is engraved with your individual serial number, "1901–2026," and the 125 commemorative mark. You can also add your unit, rank, name and PMKEYS — optional, your call. No two watches leave the same.

Why $900?

It's the real number. 38mm steel case, sapphire, Miyota 82S5, Australian earth in the crown, $50 to a veterans' charity. No hedging, no "from."

Why a Japanese movement and not Swiss?

Because the Miyota 82S5 is the right movement for this watch. It's robust, current production, and the sub-seconds register at 4:30 is what makes the W.W.W. dial layout work. Bausele runs Swiss movements in most of our line. For 125 Field, Japanese is the honest call.

When will I get it? and what if it runs late?

Production starts once we hit 300 reservations. Estimated delivery is Q3 2026. Watches are made to order, so if something in the supply chain slips, we tell you — straight, in the monthly update, not after the fact. Your balance isn't charged until the watch is built and ready to ship. You're never paying in full for something that doesn't exist yet.

How is this different from a regular Bausele?

The regular Bausele range is built for everyday wear. The 125 Field is built for one thing: to mark 125 years of Army service and put it on the wrist of the people who served. Different brief — tougher, smaller, simpler, made to the 1944 field-watch spec, personalised to you, and made only once. Regular Bausele you can buy any day. This one closes on 26 June and never runs again.

What happens if 300 reservations aren't reached?

The watch isn't built. Every deposit is refunded within 14 business days. You keep your registration on file for any future Bausele drop.

Will it wear well in the field?

Built for it. 38mm fits under a cuff or webbing, 100m water resistant, sapphire crystal, domed but low, subdued matte dial, no reflective polish. Drilled lugs so you can swap to your own strap in seconds. Hacking movement so you can sync it.

Who's behind this? Can I trust Bausele?

Bausele has been building Australian watches since 2011 — Australian-designed, sold worldwide, real company, real warranty. This watch exists because Dan asked his community a question and 407 of you answered. We're just the ones building it. 2-year movement warranty, lifetime serial registration, and you can talk to a human the whole way through.
