Your Bausele is built to last a lifetime, with a little help from you.

Whether it's your first mechanical watch or your tenth, there's always something worth knowing. Here's everything you need to keep your Bausele ticking, looking sharp, and staying with you for the long haul.

BEST PRACTICES

HOW TO WIND YOUR BAUSELE

Step 1/2: Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise until it releases from the case, this is the winding position. Do not pull it further out.

Step 2/2: Turn the crown clockwise approximately 30 to 40 full rotations to tension the mainspring and build a full power reserve.

Note: Never wind your Bausele while wearing it on your wrist. Always hold it in your hand to protect the crown and stem from lateral stress.

HOW TO SET THE TIME

Step 1/4: Pull the crown out to the first position. Turn the crown to set the date to one day before today's date.

Step 2/4: Pull the crown out one further position. The seconds hand will stop, this is the time-setting position.

Step 3/4: Turn the crown forwards (clockwise) until the date changes, this confirms you've crossed midnight. Continue setting to the correct time, making sure you're on the right AM or PM.

Step 4/4: Push the crown back through the date position, then screw it firmly back into the case. A correctly seated, screwed-down crown is essential for maintaining water resistance.

Note: Never manually advance the date using the date-setting position when the time is between approximately 9pm and 3am, the date mechanism is mid-change during this window and forcing it can damage the movement.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR BAUSELE

Step 1/4: Clean regularly — after a swim, surf, or a day outdoors, rinse your watch under fresh water and wipe it dry with a soft microfibre cloth.

Step 2/4: Avoid impacts — mechanical movements are precision instruments. Protect your watch from drops, hard knocks, and vibrations where possible.

Step 3/4: Keep it away from magnets — avoid placing your Bausele near speakers, phones, laptop lids, or magnetic closures. Magnetism can disrupt timekeeping.

Step 4/4: Service every 5 years — for lasting accuracy and water resistance, we recommend a professional service every five years. Contact us and we'll guide you through it.

HOW TO MAINTAIN WATER RESISTANCE

Step 1/3: Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before water exposure: swimming, diving, or even a heavy downpour.

Step 2/3: Avoid thermal shocks, don't wear your watch in a hot shower or sauna immediately after being in cold water. Rapid temperature changes stress the seals.

Step 3/3: Have the gaskets tested every two years if you regularly expose your watch to water. A watchmaker can perform a pressure test quickly and affordably.

HOW TO STORE YOUR BAUSELE

Step 1/3: Store in the original box or a padded watch roll, away from direct sunlight, humidity, and extreme temperatures.

Step 2/3: If storing for an extended period, wind the watch every few weeks to keep the lubricants from settling and the movement running smoothly.

Step 3/3: Avoid storing near strong magnetic sources (certain handbags, tablet covers, or appliances).

THE CROWN CHAMBER

WHAT IS THE CROWN CHAMBER?

The Crown Chamber is the heart of every Bausele. Sealed inside the crown of your watch is a physical element of Australia: sand from Manly Beach, red earth from the outback, sea glass, and more depending on your model.

This isn't decoration. It's a piece of the country, carried with you wherever you go.

HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR ELEMENT

Each Bausele ships with a card identifying the specific element sealed inside your crown. If you've misplaced it, your element is also indicated on your certificate of authenticity.

CAN I OPEN THE CROWN CHAMBER?

No and you wouldn't want to. The Crown Chamber is permanently sealed during assembly to preserve the integrity of the element inside. Opening it would damage the watch and void the warranty.

WILL THE ELEMENT AFFECT THE CROWN'S FUNCTION?

Not at all. The element is sealed within a dedicated compartment in the crown's construction, completely isolated from the crown's mechanical function of winding and time-setting.

STRAPS & BRACELETS

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR STRAP

Step 1/4: Place your watch face-down on a clean, soft surface, a folded microfibre cloth works perfectly.

Step 2/4: Using a spring bar tool (Bergeon 6825 or equivalent), compress one end of the spring bar inward while guiding it out of the lug hole.

Step 3/4: Repeat on the other side. Remove the old strap and set it aside.

Step 4/4: To attach the new strap, reverse the process: compress the spring bar, align with the lug holes, and release. Gently tug the strap to confirm it's seated securely on both sides.

Tip: If you're changing straps frequently, a quality spring bar tool makes the process much faster and reduces the risk of lug scratches.

HOW TO CARE FOR A LEATHER STRAP

Step 1/3: Keep leather dry where possible, avoid swimming or prolonged water exposure with a leather strap fitted.

Step 2/3: If the strap gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources.

Step 3/3: Wipe down periodically with a very slightly damp cloth. A small amount of leather conditioner once every few months will extend its life significantly.

HOW TO CARE FOR A RUBBER OR SILICONE STRAP

Step 1/2: Rinse with fresh water after exposure to salt water, chlorine, or sunscreen.

Step 2/2: Wipe dry and store flat, avoid folding or compressing the strap for extended periods, which can cause creasing.

HOW TO CARE FOR A STAINLESS STEEL BRACELET

Step 1/3: Clean periodically with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush to remove buildup in the links and clasp.

Step 2/3: Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely before wearing.

Step 3/3: A polishing cloth can restore the brushed or polished finish between services.
